Meet Connie Inukai
Inventor of Tip 'n Split
“AT AGE 68, AFTER 40 YEARS AS A UNIVERSITY INSTRUCTOR, I PUT AWAY MY TEACHING MATERIALS AND LAUNCHED MY OWN PRODUCT.”
As someone who loved eating out with friends, Connie faced a problem. As she got older, it became increasingly difficult to read the small print on menus and bills in dimly lit restaurants.
Rather than passing around reading glasses and using the distracting flashlight on her cellphone, she decided to create a better solution.
In 2013, the Tip ‘n Split® was born.
Now, Connie is continuing her post-retirement journey as a new entrepreneur. She hopes to help everyone that was in her position so they can get back to enjoying dinners with friends and the people they love.
Inventor, Lisa Ascolese, thinks Tip ‘N Split should be at every restaurant in America.
Angela Heath of Gig Con loves the magnifying glass and soft illumination.
What is Dick's favorite feature of the Tip 'N Split? The magnifying glass!
Removing frustrations when dining with her parents, Diane bought a great gift.
When you buy a gift for your mother-in-law but love it so much, you grab one for yourself…
Joe finds his Tip ‘N Split to be much easier than finding an app on his iPhone.
VERIFIED BUYER REVIEWS
I first saw the product at a trade show in New York, and was delighted to see that it was on QVC. It is always in my pocket so I can read the menu and bill at my favorite restaurants. We bought several units from QVC to be ready for the holidays, one for my mother, another for my mother-in-law, two for aunts, and one for our best friend. We will be the best Santa and Mrs. Santa this year!

I purchased this for my Father who always had challenge reading menus at restaurant. Now he doesn't go to a restaurant without it! We loved the product and it sure makes life easier.
I also like that it has a magnifying device with a light. Rex is forever forgetting his reading glass so I have to read to him what is on the menu. Now I can just pull out the Tip 'n Split® and he can read the menu himself. I think this would be a great gift for your parents and grandparents or anyone who goes out to eat often.

Grandmapreneur · Author · Speaker
Connie Inukai is a 71-year-old entrepreneur.
She hasn’t always been one, however. Far from it! For decades, she worked as a professor at the University of Maryland and Johns Hopkins University.
When Connie retired, she thought that was it—that she would leave her work behind and sit tight. But she couldn’t have been more wrong. She invented the Tip ‘n Split®—a handheld device that solved a great challenge facing people over 55: declining vision. Tip ‘n Split® magnifies the text on menus and bills, includes a light source, and completes calculations in one device!
Today she is thriving, in her second act. Connie is an inventor, a “grandmapreneur,” an author, and a caregiver to two young grandchildren. She is living proof that the second-act entrepreneur can succeed, if only they focus on what matters most to them.
As a speaker, Connie travels the nation inspiring other Baby Boomers to follow their dreams. You can read more about her journey here.
